If you read my posts on occasion then you know I really love taking pictures with my iPhone, but the iPhone and Diego, my Canon 7D are the only cameras that I have. Randy has an old Canon Powershot but it has seen better days. We have a pontoon boat and a fishing boat so we are often out on the lake for the weekends. Sometimes I take Diego (yes, my camera has a name) with me, I love getting the pictures but it makes me highly nervous to have him out on the water. I started looking at waterproof cameras on Amazon a year ago, at least. I wanted something small, waterproof and still be able to take a decent picture. Two weeks ago I bought a little Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS20, I found it on sale for 129 bucks and got a 16g memory card for it while I was in shopping mode. I can’t wait to take it out and about on the water! Hoping to get some fun pool pictures with it too, let the crazies hop in the pool with it for a few minutes at a time. The instructions say not to keep it underwater for more than a minute, so obviously it’s not a deep sea diving kind of camera but if it gets wet on the boat that’s not really a big deal and it will relieve my stressing over Diego! I have given this newest little addition a name as well, Squirt, I think it’s fitting for the role that it will play in the family. This is all part of my plan to photograph the family in a Kelle Hamptonesque kinda of way.
Meet Squirt! (photo courtesy of my iPhone, used because it was fast and convenient)
